NASA's Conceptual Image Lab

The Conceptual Image Lab (CILab) at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center specializes in translating complex scientific concepts into visually compelling animations and imagery. As an Art Director, I lead a team of highly skilled artists in crafting accurate and engaging visual narratives that bring groundbreaking discoveries, space missions, and scientific phenomena to life. CILab operates agency-wide, collaborating closely with scientists, engineers, and communicators across NASA centers to develop compelling visual content that supports mission goals. We also partner with external organizations, including research institutions, media outlets, international space agencies, and museums, ensuring that NASA’s discoveries reach and inspire global audiences. This reel showcases animations I have either personally created or art directed as part of my work with CILab. Each piece reflects a collaborative effort between artists, scientists, and engineers, blending creativity with technical precision to make science more accessible and impactful.
